Final Treatment

November 11,2008

I completed my final treatment yesterday, so with a 3 week recovery, I should feel much better!!

Thereafter, I will be able to go back for check ups at 3 month intervals.  This should give me some time to have fun for the holidays.

Thanks to all of you who have helped to get me through this difficult period.  I feel as if I have been on a treadmill since May.

Let's hope for a nice long remission and happy days ahead!

Maura

Hooray Maura! Hooray for all the Perkins! I think you've all been extraordinary. As an L.A. girl, I have to ask: Isn't this the stuff of TV movies? Just kidding, just kidding. But how about an article in PEOPLE? You deserve to be feted. Now on to a very meaningful Thanksgiving. You're well and Obama is President. It doesn't get better than this!
Love to you and Bill, Emily and Nathaniel.

Wonderful news!

I know the road to this milestone has not been without challenge and difficulty, but you have such admirable grace and determination! Best wishes to you, and the entire Perkins family. We hope to see you soon, and will be in Dartmouth around Christmas time. I'm sure the kids are studying up for the trip. So much to celebrate. You've been in my thoughts daily. Love to you, Bill, and the kids,

Courtney

Way to go, Maura (I'm beaming as I write this!). You have become a heroine of sorts to various friends of mine here in mid-coast Maine. Everyone asks: "How's Maura?" Maybe, like B. Patten, you should come to town and do a book signing (but 1st you must write a book; I guess?). Maybe these many, many wonderful blogs will do. Congratulations, and Much Love,
Kate
